To develop meaningful grief support skills, we first must acknowledge that grief is a natural, healthy response to loss. There is no shame in grieving. From there, we need to find the courage to engage in uncomfortable conversations and approach these interactions with humility, curiosity, and compassion. In this talk, Filmmaker Lindsey Whissel Fenton will show excerpts from the documentary Speaking Grief and share what she’s learned talking with people throughout the U.S. about their experiences with loss. Fenton will also offer strategies for offering meaningful support to grieving people.
