Understanding Loss and Grief How to help a grieving person

Loss and Grief

Bereavement refers to the experience of losing your loved one.

Grief refers to an overall internal experience that involves the physical and psychological reactions towards the death of a loved one, or a major loss.

Mourning refers to the process of adapting to the passing of a loved one or a major loss. Mourning acts are expressed publicly in memory of the deceased, and are influenced by the individual's social, cultural and religious background.

Grief is a normal response to the loss of our beloved ones. When we lose our loved one, we all learn to grieve well and adapt to the loss.

Be the companion for the bereaved, so that they are not alone in their grief.
